PERTHSHIRE LADIES MCC

Will this be your last copy of the PLMCC Newsletter? It will if you have not yet paid your membership for 2003. Membership forms available from Ruth. Advantages to be had are: A great time with like-minded people. Lots of laughs. An excuse to get out the house and out on that bike. Membership of the BMF. Discount on purchases from some of our most popular Motorcycle outlets.

Meeting - 10th March

This was very well attended with 19 member turning up – any excuse to get out the house!! After a discussion on overall business, Easter Egg Run, Camping etc. We were fortunate enough to receive a talk by Neil Stewart who is a retired Policemen who is now a MAC instructor (Motorcycle Appreciation Course – for those of you who want to know). Once again Moria did not let the side down with her enthusiastic questions, and offer of a Tena Lady so he could wipe his board! If anyone wishes to go on the two day course there is a link in the PLMCC website with further details, cost etc.

This bit is for you Helen

Sorry to hear that you are poorly. We all send you our love and hope that you feeling better soon, see you on the 1st.

Easter Egg Run - 27th April

This year PLMCC are going to welcome partners & kids to join us on the run on the 27th (although there won’t be any males allowed in the photos). This will let the girls who don’t have a bike or their bike is laid up – ride with their partner, or they can meet up for the lunch (they might even pay!) Final arrangements still to be finalised, but going to the Tower Hotel, Crieff for lunch. Proposing that each member brings a couple of Easter Eggs full details of decisions given nearer the time. Hope to see you all there.

Apologies to Moria – Here it is!

Moria was dismayed to note that in the last issue there was no mention of her being asked her age (was it under or over age!!!!!) before being let into a pub on the girls night out at the beginning of February.

From the stand-in Editor (Lynn)

While Helen is laid up I have agreed to produce this issue of the PLMCC Newsletter. I will try and match the exciting banter, but come back Helen, we all miss you.

Anyone fancy a spot of Off Roading? If you fancy it (off roading that is) details are: Groups of no more than 6 people. Place: Ballencrieff Farm, near Bathgate. Company is: xboost Cost: about £110 for a full day including instruction, lunch etc. No experience necessary. They use little gas bikes. If you are interested let Tracey know. Visit www.xboost.co.uk. for full details. As they state "Steep muddy hills, almost vertical descents, forest sections and technical built challenges coupled with wide open free riding spaces will ensure that you have a safe but adrenalin filled day."

www.perthshireladiesmc.fsnet.co.uk

The website is growing with lots of things being added. As well as details of up and coming events, access to the forum, there is other links to suppliers, interesting sites etc. If you would like any other information or a website address added. Please contact Lynn novice webmaster but slowly improving!

We've been infiltrated by a MALE!

As well as the website there is the PLMCC forum group, which is a bit of a pain to get into, but once you are registered it allows you to get copies of the chat (via e-mail) that is going on. Unfortunately or fortunately there is a male code name 'Falcoholic' who has gained access, mind you he has given us girls some laughs, and has had to put up with some slagging, so we might let him stay. Hils knows him and he is seemingly quite sweet really. He suggests "If you have internerd access this thread on Visordown makes good reading. http://www.visordown.com/forums/showthread.php?s="

I haven't had a chance to have a look yet - hope it's not rude!

Babies, babies everywhere

Will we have to start a mini PLMCC club or Crèche? Congratulations to Jackie and Alison.

Jackie’s baby is due any day if not already here by the time you read this. And Alison doesn’t believe in doing things easily and is expecting twins. We wish you all the best and look forward to meeting the new arrivals when the time comes.

Interesting bit of information

A chap contacted the website to offer us the following if I put a link in our site for Ultraseal You can link to their special page just for club members, at: http://www.ultraseal-notts.co.uk/club-special-offer.html where we will save up to 50% on Ultraseal. Ultarseal is a revolutionary product which actually does what it says on the bottle!  Extends the life of any tyre by up to 40%, prevents up to 20 punctures in any tyre, up to 6mm in diameter (95% of punctures are less than this).

Ultraseal will also help to vastly reduce blowouts, as well as improving fuel economy by around 10% and helping to reduce vibrations. I haven't had a chance to look yet, but think it maybe worth it.

Funnies - Bloody Awful Jokes

You'd never believe it, but I bumped into a famous stuntman in a motorcycle shop the other day. He was complaining because he couldn't decide whether to buy a bike with a high top speed but poor acceleration, or one with lots of torque and a fast acceleration but a poor top speed. Eventually he decided on the second one because it cost a lot less. After all, torque is cheap.

Horse Shoe: What you say to a horse when you want it to go away.

So it was my birthday. I had a big party, and my friend made me a birthday cake. He brought it out, and it was a savory cake. It had a doughy base, with cheese and all sorts of other toppings sprinkled on top.
I said "That must have taken a lot of effort to make." And he said "No, it was a pizza cake."

HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate expensive parts not far from the object we are trying to hit.

MECHANIC'S KNIFE: Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard cartons delivered to your front door; works particularly well on boxes containing seats and motorcycle jackets.

ELECTRIC HAND DRILL: Normally used for spinning steel Pop rivets in their holes until you die of old age, but it also works great for drilling mounting holes in fenders just above the brake line that goes to the rear wheel.

Last Word from the temporary editor

I'm going to bed now, it's 22.35 on Wednesday and this bloody computer has crashed three times, if it wasn't so heavy I'd have thrown it out the window. See you all on Tuesday 1st.
