PERTHSHIRE LADIES MCC

September 2003

THUNDER IN THE GLEN The lead bike was a Honda 1100cc trike, and is owned by June Soutar from Huddersfield.(she let her hubby Stan ride around the town on it as the Lord Provest was the passenger) she was very nervous .Anyway they had a great time and will be back sometime. I sent copies of the Courier and the P A to them.

LOOK OUT FOR THIS MAN I would like to say take care when going through Methven as there is a certain (gentleman)??? Who causes you to have an accident and then goes on to verbally abuse you in front of loads of people. This man is obviously of superior intelligence to us mere femaIes, (well did you know that if you shout at the person you just hit with your car, then you are the winner). And he seems to think that doing a u-turn into a motorbike is ok!! as long as you indicate at the very last minute. I understand that a parked car just vanished as well. Magic or what??does anyone know how to do this trick??? If any of you happen to know him!! in case he is concened, Edith spent hours in out patients and her hand and knee are still quit sore, (although I think her ears are the sorest thing about her)."No honest he is an adult,'' I will say this, it is bad enough being involved in an accident but to suffer verbal abuse as well is just not on. So look out!!! THIS MAN IS ABOUT!!! Watch out safe driving.

LOSSIEMOUTH Just to say a big thank you to Sue for all your hard work in making this once again a very happy and enjoyable event. Three cheers for Sue Hip Hip Hurrah. that's enough don't want to spoil you.

Tracey, Lynn and Gillian were on their way to Lossie when they came across a bike accident so being the people they are they stopped to help out. As far as I know at the time of going to press the man is still on a ventilator but his granddaughter is now home sporting a cast on her broken arm. Poor wee soul. Anyway I'm glad you were there for them. Tracey had a run of bad luck her battery wouldn't start (Fraser to the rescue with another one,) then a couple of miles further on she had a fight with a sheep (she won) but got a real scare, well done on keeping your bike upright.. Then when she got home she had a fight with a bungie (she lost that one) she is sporting a lovely sore eye. Idon't think I want a lift anywhere just now Tracey but its got to get better soon?

Birthday greetings Sorry we missed them but happy belated birthdays to Kath and Lynn.

MESSGE FROM MAGGIE ABOUT PERTH WOMANS AID Hi it's Maggie from Perthshire Woman's Aid. I was chuffed to bits to hear from Helen that PWA are once again going to benefit from the funds raised at your forthcoming dance. PWA have provided refuge for 28 women and 45 children this year and have supported hundreds more by telephone or at our drop-in at 9 York Place. This year the children have enjoyed the easter eggs donated by yourselves and have also had a fab summer trip to the Deer centre. Using some of the money left over from your last cash donation. Over the past few years your generosity has provided lots of practical support e g, bunk beds transport for women and children fleeing domestic abuse, school shoes etc, as well as lots of treats for the women and children who use our services. Everyone at PWA is very grateful for all these extras which your efforts have helped provide and our thanks goes to all of you. I hope to see you at the dance in November. Thanks again, Maggie.

Sue has started working for herself from home so, just thought I would give her a plug. She will upholster anything you want (within limits of course). Also curtain making and altering So why not try her out and see what you think (then you can let us know if she is any good )

BABY NEWS!! I am a granny again to another wee boy 'Tony' Valentina is going to be a granny for the first time so all the best to her.

HILLARY THE PROUD MUM Norman has done really well this season with his racing. Two firsts and a third at Cadwell on 22nd august and a third on the Sunday 23rd. He was racing in a mixed race so beat quit a few of the 1000cc bikes (he is on 600cc) He will be selling his R6 track bike at the end of the season (anyone interested) also his Camper, as he is buying something different for next season.

I have enclosed a letter from Mette about her hubby Duncan and as you will see he is also doing well. (we can always say we knew them when they were poor)At least that is the general idea.

FOR GOLF FANATICS Rachel has done it again, she has managed to get a really great item for the auction. It is a fantastic voucher that gives you (wait for it) FOUR ROUNDS OF GOLF ON ANY COURSE AT GLENEAGLES EITHER KINGS, QUEENS OR THE PGA. Now I don't know much about golf but I do know that this is one of the best things that you could give to a golfer and if you got this for any of your freinds or family you would be getting a gift that they would never forget. So if you can!! will you all tell as many folk as possible about it!! and we will get all the more money for our charity. Thanks Rach well done (clap clap clap)

A LOVELY SIGHT TO BEHOLD Billy and me went out on Wednesday evening for a run about in the (car) and we came upon a really uplifting sight. It was you lot all sitting at the garage waiting to go for your run. It really cheered me up to see so many of you and believe me it was smart, you all looked so very bright and happy. Bet you cheered a lot of folk up just looking at you all. I hope you had a great run, the weather has been brilliant this season and its good to see you taking advantage of it. Just wait till next year. I'll be there.

I am sorry but I don't have time to put in any jokes this time and its not the same without them but next time will be different. I was at the hydro pool this morning and this man was doing exercises at the same time it turns out he was in a bike accident four weeks ago, I'm only mentioning it because he broke both the main bones in his left leg and also his ankle, and his left wrist and he is walking about as if he has just had a wee  tumble. He was up near Loch Earn Head and he went round the road and this tourist was sitting in the middle of the road looking at the view. He even phoned the ambulance and his wife himself SUPERMAN or what.

KNICKER DILEMA Steph says that" Thor" Her dog brought a pair of her old knickers through to the living room when she had people in the house. She says that if he had to do it why could he have not picked a pair of her good ones. Sods law I suppose .Anyway it got us talking and wondering if we were the only folk who had good and old ones. So to be blunt Are we the only people to be like this, I am just asking ??

YEAR OUT Karyss is staying at home this year so hopefully she will get another bike and join us once again on the runs when they start. I make a quick note when we are at the meetings and then try and remember what it is about. Well I have something written about Moira peeing on her hands or not as the case may be?? but I cant remember what it is about can you help me Moira???

I am not joking when I say this must be the worst one of these that I have had to do as every time. I wrote something I either messed it up or wiped it out or just didn't do it right to begin with so I am glad to see the back if. Roll on Decembers one I hope it is easier???????????

MOBILE PHONES Well that's that then I am snookered as I wont be able to use the phone when driving (I might save some money)It is now the law that you cant drive and talk on your phone at the same time £30.00) on the spot fine. Mind you I think it makes sense as I have done some silly things when going along the road texing people. I have even done it on my bike and that was a really stupid thing to do. (the police were in front of some of the girls so I thought I would warn them) DAH . With brains like that who needs enemies.

NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN Karen wants to know if any of you want to go out on the 20th December for a fun night. Meet up and go for a drink and then on to the dancing. I have a Ruby Wedding on that night so cant go but if you fancy it give her Tilda or Steph a shout and make your arrangements.

MINI ACCIDENT Moira I am so sorry about your mini. At least you are all right but what an experience poor you (her mini got hit by an artic lorry and she saw it happen)

I DON'T UNDERSTAND Why is it that men have such a problem saying what is on their mind???

HOW HARD IS IT TO SAY SEX

WOMANS AID OPEN DAY Both Helen Dargie and myself went along to the open day and had a nice time we were shown how the place helped all the mothers and kids over one of the hardest times in their lives. I think they do a great job and they are really grateful to all of you for the money that is donated to them. Maggie and Val are going to let you know what is being done with it this time in a future letter.

JERSEY We have been invited to Jersey by a ladies bike club for the fancy dress run that they have in June 6th so if you can contact Sue on ************ or ************** she will fill you in on it. They have said that they will help with accommodation and that will keep the cost down a bit. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun so give her a call.

SPEEDING I know its hard to believe but it is true Sue you are very naughty and you the chair as well. Tut, Tut, Tut. What an example to give to our law abiding ladies. Shouldn't say it but. Well done you its about time someone got done for it. I was beginning to think you had all gone soft. Is it a spot fine you get or what I'm not sure. Just taking the mick Sue hope you don't mind.

TRIKE OR BIKE? That is the question ?? I have been sitting on my bike at times and thinking to myself " Can I do this " and to be honest I don't know yet but I am trying to be positive. I am getting a trike built as you all know, but I would really like to be back on my bike. I am going to keep trying for a wee while yet and then if I can't then I will be on the trike but any way 1 will be back out next season one way or another. So be scared be very scared. I hope Dianne is going to be back as well and Hillary I want you to get on your new bike and come out too. I have seen the pictures.
