January 2005 Newsletter

EDITORS NOTE

Well, I am back again for the last time, as the newsletter will be getting handed back over to proper Editor from February. Anyway, I hope you all had a really good Christmas and New Year break with lots of fun involved. Don’t forget that this will be your last newsletter if we don’t receive your membership fee and form.

LAZERQUEST (Zap zone)

Well, those of us who went had a great laugh, and intimated a return would be pursued later in the year. For those not already aware via the yahoo site, the greens (Jackie, Sue, Lynn and Kay) hammered the reds (Tracey, Ruth, Moira and Fiona)! Jackie got the top score – well done Jackie. The only problems were that it was over too soon – oh and don’t wear anything white or you glow in the dark. Definitely worth a fiver each!!!!

 The greens cup! (this time!!!)

OTHER STUFF

Ann Summers night. Thanks to Sue for organising the Ann Summers night, which was also a great laugh. I hope you all enjoyed trying out the new toys and gear over the festive period.

AGM – This is on Monday 7th February 2005 at the Bell Tree, Methven at 7.30. Election of a full new committee is required. As most of you are aware, the present committee has now reached the two year maximum, so there is new blood required to take on the challenge. Some members have already expressed an interest, so to those who have, please do make sure that your intentions are made clear on the night to put yourself up for election. If anyone wishes to nominate another member, please ensure that the nominated person is in agreement first.

To clarify the roles of the main committee members for those of you who are thinking about taking on any of the positions, the Secretary records the minutes of all meetings and distributes to all members; The Chair is basically a figurehead for the club, and chairs the meetings; The Treasurer receives and distributes all monies to and from the club, and keeps books and prepares a financial statement for the AGM; The Administrator keeps the membership details, and updates the other Committee members; the Newsletter Editor. There is also a webmistress! This may be reviewed at the AGM if appropriate.

MEMBERSHIPS – are now due for those who have not paid yet. Please note that Committee members must be paid up, so those of you who are thinking of putting your names forward, please ensure that you pay before the AGM. Please make your cheques payable to PLMCC and send them to Tracey with your complete membership forms. Anyone who absolutely cannot do this before the AGM, please put your form and cheques (preferred) in an envelope, as these will be given to the new treasurer. Membership cards are now being issued.

BEST WISHES & CONGRATULATIONS

Karen – for those of you who were not aware, Karen and Nigel had a baby boy in November who has been named Matthew.
